Comments: We are looking for someone to commit for the season on a very
fast racing boat. We will be racing most races April 2012 thru Sept 2012.
The boat is an Etchells, which is 30.5 ft long and all business. The PHRF rating
is 141. www.etchellsna.org We will be
racing 4-person crew. This boat is very fast and a lot of fun. It is the perfect
platform to race. It has no cabin to get into the way
I am very easy to get along with and love to have a good time, but expect to
win. I have been racing for 40 years. My foredecker will be leaving, so I will
have one position open for 2012. Thanks, Jim

Comments: I don't get to spend enough
time sailing because I don't have anyone serious enough to go with me. It's
really hard to step my mast all by myself, although I can do it. However, it's
alot easier if I have someone to hook the forestay. It's not fun to leave the
tiller, and drop the sails all by myself. I am set up for easy single-handing.
main and jib hallards extend to cockpit. I don't mind sharing the tiller, I
don't mind relaxing for a while, and letting my sailing partner single-hand for
a while. I hate up-tight Skippers who yell at their crew. I am cautious, but I
know how to value and respect my crew. well that's about it. so if your looking
to just get out and have a relaxed sailing trip. I will accommodate your
preferences concerning weather or not you like sailing with, or without the rail
under water. hey, I figure it this way; as long as we cant see any fish through
the cabin windows, then were ok.

Comments: The boat is a cruiser optimized
for performance. We can't typically make the race schedule but we believe "if
there are two boats out on the water, it's a race". Usually, we casually play
with the boat speed and trim and run around some marks, cruise a bit between the
bridges (depending on the day), practice maneuvers, put up one of the two
asymmetric chutes, bring her home, clean her up. I am open to help train but I
like you to have good sea legs, especially for docking. I like sailors with some
experience looking to get some low pressure water time and not afraid to drive.
Leave attitudes ashore, be punctual, bring refreshments for the skipper. Looking
for Tuesday evenings, occasional Thursdays, sometimes Saturday or Sunday
afternoons. Who knows, we might even enter something one of these days.

athleticism, but there isn't any better seat to learn and watch the action of

way to get into the action. You can also learn more about us at

I'm a Thistle sailor that's been around for a while and club sail out of
Willamette Sailing Club. I'm looking for a ringer for a middle crew to help me
out with a full season of sailing next year (from April-Aug.07). It would
involve club sailing on wed. nights and some out of town regattas (2-3). The
Thistle Nationals will be held in Eugene at Fern Ridge at the end of July my
main goal for the season. I need a middle crew for jib and spinnaker work, and
help on the compass for lifts and header. Help with tactics would also be
helpful and allow me to work on boat speed.
Is this something you might be interested in? Please let me know.
